Merry Christmas! I refuse to let the America haters win this holiday season!

After I published my article last week, I needed to go to my local Home Depot to purchase some building supplies for a project I am working on for a friend. I pulled into the parking lot at about 10:45 A.M. on “Black Friday”. I am 71 years old and have never seen a Home Depot parking lot this full! I was driving my older heavy-duty Chevy Silverado hunting and work project truck and pulling a 5’ x 8’ utility trailer. With the trailer attached I had trouble finding a parking space! As I looked for a parking space, I noticed men, women and families loading shopping and lumber carts full of all sorts of merchandise including large stuffed animals, Christmas decorations, tools, and even live decorative poinsettia plants into a wide variety of vehicles. And yes, there were also people like me buying building materials, including those in line at the licensed contractor checkout loading area.

When I did find a place to park and got inside it was literally standing room only in some parts of the store. And, like the overflowing parking lot, I have never seen so many orange aprons (Home Depot employees). It was obvious that Home Depot had gone on a well thought out “hiring and training spree”. I had to wait in a queue for an employee to find me a lumber cart and help me load the materials I needed on it. Yet everyone I interacted with in this practically overwhelming retail environment was cheerful and professional. The young lady that checked me out even said “Merry Christmas” to me with a bright smile when she handed me my receipt and credit card back. The young man that helped me fill my order waited for me to check out and then pushed the lumber cart out to the parking lot, helped me load my truck and trailer and then said, “Merry Christmas Sir”. Note: this is a free-standing Home Depot building supply, appliance and garden center store in western Georgia! It is not in a retail mall!

As I wrote earlier, I had just published my weekly article where I listed a lot of very positive things I see happening in America, and how I had made a conscious decision to not let the America hating Left (Democrats, MSM, and RINO Republicans) succeed in making me be in a negative mood this Holiday season! There is too much GOOD happening in America now to allow the Left to suppress my optimism! This positive experience reaffirmed to me that I had made the right decision to focus on everything GOOD that is happening in America. And then over the  weekend, and into the first part of this week, every time I turned on the TV or logged into the internet, it became obvious that I was going to need positive experiences like this if I was going to be able to stay on track with having a positive holiday season and trying to share it with everyone I came in contact with.

It is increasingly obvious to me that the better things get in America the ANGRIER the “America haters” become!  In some instances, “ANGRY” is not a strong enough word to describe the Left’s behavior. It would also be inaccurate to try and use the words REASON or TRUTH when trying to communicate with the Left or understand how they can be so dishonest in their effort to distort the facts about what is really happening in America! Here are two recent examples of how dishonest and disgusting the Left is now:

  • Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith was in a Mississippi runoff for her Senate seat against Mike Espy, a former member of the Clinton Administration. Another Republican candidate got enough votes in the primary election to force the top two vote finishers in the primary to compete in a runoff (Mississippi has a “jungle” primary system where all candidates can run). When complimenting the host of a fund raiser that she was attending during her campaign Hyde-Smith said. “I think so much of him that if he asked me to attend a public hanging I would sit in the front row”. THE RACE CARD IMMEDIATELY CAME OUT ALL OVER THE COUNTRY! She was immediately accused of being racist and deliberately misquoted to support their ridiculous claim. The Left has constantly claimed that she used the word “lynching” instead of the phrase “public hanging”. Public hangings were legal capital punishment, lynchings were murder. She did use a poor choice of words, but this does not make her a racist. Unfortunately, deliberately misquoting someone for political gain is “standard operating procedure” for the Left. Update: Senator Hyde-Smith won the runoff by a comfortable margin.
  • When a large band of illegals tried to cross the border into California the Border Patrol agents working that section of the border were outnumbered “hundreds to one”. When the Border Patrol stood their ground and enforced the border the illegals became violent and began to attack the agents with projectiles like rocks, pieces of concrete, and even pieces of the border fence, while yelling obscenities at them. Several of the agents were injured and several of the Border Patrol vehicles were damaged by the projectiles. The illegals became so violent that the agents had to use pepper spray to try to stop the attack and then had to use tear gas to keep them from breaching the border. The Left’s immediate response was to loudly compare the Border Patrol to the Nazi massacre of the Jews and accusing them of “using chemicals of war against people who only wanted a better life for themselves, including women and children”. The last accusation came from a sitting U.S. Congressman. The Border Patrol supervisor responsible for that area of the border said that NOT ONE OF THE ILLEGALS APPROACHED THE BORDER AND ASKED FOR ASYLUM? The supervisor also said the group that tried to violently cross the border was almost totally male. A FOX NEWS crew that was at the border interviewed several of the illegals involved in the attempt to cross the border. They reported that no one that they talked to said they wanted asylum in the U.S. They all said that they just wanted to come to America to work for a few years. The FOX crew also confirmed that the group at this attempted border crossing was almost totally male.

 

Beginning Sunday evening and on into the week the Left (the Democrats, the MSM, and the RINO Republicans) literally filled the airwaves and the internet with nasty comments like the examples above. As I see all the good things that are happening in America now, I find myself wondering how there could be so much hatred like this for America? But I now accept the fact that the Left will stop at nothing to “fundamentally change America”. We cannot let that happen!

Note: From this point forward, I am going to say “Merry Christmas” to people I interact with, not the P.C. “Happy Holidays”!

 

Is Losing the House of Representatives a Blessing in Disguise?

I think YES!

As I watched and listened to everything that happened in America in recent years, especially the last two years, it became obvious to me that America was coming to another crucial point in its history. A point where the America I grew up in would cease to exist if there was not a significant change in the Washington Cesspool in the very near future. I believe we got a critical part of that change in the mid-term elections that ended on Tuesday. With the Democrats in charge of the House, with a very slim majority they cannot continue to totally resist everything the President wants to do. Now at least some of the spotlight will be focused on them. With some of the most extreme Democrats becoming the chairperson of the House committees their irrational and ridiculous behavior will be completely visible to everyone who chooses to look at what is really happening in America.

In addition to the Democrats having a slim majority in the House, the Republicans will have a stronger majority in the Senate, and a lot of the RINO Republicans will be OUT of the Washington Cesspool on December 31st!  The RINOs are being replaced by people who appear to be Conservative Republicans! With a strong Conservative Republican majority in the Senate the Democrats will be forced to be more reasonable in what they do or do not do. For example: Neither President Trump nor Judge Kavanaugh will be impeached.

President Trump was truly masterful in the way he worked to make the elections be more favorable for what he wants for America. He was even more amazing than usual during the last few weeks of the mid-term election campaign. On many days he did multiple campaign rallies but never appeared to be tired! He made every minute count as he worked to reduce the Democrats takeover of the House and increase the Republican majority in the Senate. He clearly knew exactly what he wanted to accomplish and did it!

After working tirelessly and brilliantly during the last few weeks of the mid-term election campaign, President Trump ramped up his efforts to “Make America Great Again” on election day. As the results began to trickle in the President began to make calls to ranking Democrats to talk about working with them to pass bipartisan bills. And then he ramped up his efforts to “Make America Great Again” early Wednesday morning! The first thing he did was to have his Chief of Staff call A.G. Sessions and ask for his immediate resignation. Based on everything I have seen and heard Jeff Sessions is a good man, but he has been an absolute failure as A.G. As soon as he had Sessions’ resignation letter in his hand President Trump appointed an “Acting A.G.” that will do what needs to be done in the DOJ and do it decisively! This transition was done in a way that is perfectly legal and cannot be legitimately questioned by anyone.

While the Sessions transition was being organized President Trump stepped up to the podium and conducted the most fascinating White House press conference I have ever seen. He was completely in control, knew exactly what he was doing and accomplished exactly what he wanted to accomplish. If you have not seen or heard about this press conference, I am sure there is video available somewhere. I strongly suggest you look it up and watch it. As a result of one of the more memorable scenes in the press conference CNN was formally notified that Jim Acosta’s White House press pass had been canceled!

In addition to everything else that President Trump did on Wednesday, in response to a question during the press conference, he confirmed that he is beginning his campaign to be reelected in 2020 and Vice President Pence will be his running mate.

Based on what I have seen and heard during the last few days I think that I may begin to enjoy watching and listening to the news again and will be much less likely to “curse the TV”.

The America Haters Deliberately Use the 4th of July to Display Their Hatred!

As we try to celebrate our great nations 242nd birthday it is disappointing to see so many people use this special week to ramp up their open hatred for America.

  • The NY Daily News mocked President Trump as a clown with a disgusting picture of him in clown face with a broken golden crown on the cover of their 4th of July publication.
  • CNN’s White House Correspondent, Jim Acosta, regularly goes out of his way to be rude and disruptive at White House press briefings. He is especially rude and disruptive if the President is present. This week he issued a public statement that he believed that it was his personal responsibility as a “member of the press” to call out the Trump Administration.
  • Scott Pruitt, the head of the EPA was verbally assaulted in a restaurant by a young woman who was holding her small child. She had the assault recorded and posted it on Face Book. She went through a long monologue about how her child liked, and deserved to have clean air and water. And then she bragged about causing him, his associate and security team to get up and leave the restaurant. As I watched part of the disgusting video footage I thought about what a terrible example she was setting for her child. AND THEN I LEARNED THAT SHE IS A SCHOOL TEACHER!
  • A man was arrested for threatening to kill Rand Paul’s children with an axe.
  • A Florida man was arrested for threatening to kill Florida Congressman Mast’s children over the Trump Administration’s zero tolerance border policies. He called the Congressman’s office 478 times. On an interesting side note he volunteers at the local Planned Parenthood facility, but he is upset that illegal immigrants are temporarily being separated from their children.
  • The haters have started a new and rapidly growing battle cry to abolish ICE. This is the latest step in the “open borders” movement. Without borders America will cease to exist, which is the ”open borders” movement’s ultimate goal.
  • Someone in a position of authority at Walmart decided it was a good idea to sell “Impeach 45” t-shirts.
  • Someone threw a brick through the Nebraska Republican Party office window and spray painted “abolish ICE” all over the building.
  • The Democrats, with the eager assistance of the MSM are loudly pushing a report that the Senate Intelligence Committee came to a conclusion that Russia did interfere in our election, but it was to help Trump. This alleged “conclusion” is based on information from an Obama Administration “investigation” that was shared with Congress during Obama’s last days in office.  
  • Campus Reform went to New York City and randomly interviewed college students. They asked the students one simple question, “are you proud to be an American?” The answers were shocking! Everything from an instant “No” to “No”, and then a variety of reasons why, including what a bad country we are! As I watched the video footage I noticed that it was obvious that the person asking the questions deliberately picked people whose race and gender were very diverse.

This is only a small, random sample of what is happening in America right now. But it clearly shows how unpatriotic and self- serving so many people in America have become. Incidences like these are especially upsetting at a time when everyone in America should be standing up and honoring our nation and our flag, not angrily trying to destroy it!

 

 

How Can so Many Americans Hate America so Badly?

Several years ago I had a conversation with a friend that I had not seen for a while, about “current events” in America. During the conversation he looked at me with a very serious look on his face and said, “How did we get to this place in America”? At the time there were many different answers to that question. Now I have a different version of that question and it is, “How did so many Americans get to a point where they openly hate America so badly”? No matter how hard I try to understand the ”other side’s” views, I cannot. At times I have even tried to give some of these people the “benefit of doubt” and say to myself that they do not really hate America. They are just being shallow and self-serving, and they simply have not thought about the actual consequences of their actions. But, then I remind myself that regardless of WHY they say and do the things that they do, they are not rational or reasonable, and they are helping the “One World Order” movement destroy America.

Here are a few recent examples of “Anti-American” activity:

  • The Democrats and the MSM have been absolutely disgusting in their attacks on President Trump’s 3:00 A.M. meeting with the three Americans who were released from North Korean prisons. The disgusting public ridicule continued for several days. President Trump arranged their release, did not give North Korea anything for their release and gave up his night’s sleep to greet them when they arrived back in America. Compare this to Obama’s Bowe Bergdahl TRADE! Obama traded five of the world’s worst terrorist for Bowe, a deserter and traitor, and held a Rose Garden press conference to brag about it without a single negative word from the MSM.
  • The Democrats and MSM are now claiming that General Kelly says bad things about president Trump behind his back. Saying this about a man with General Kelly’s record of service to America and the sacrifices he has made in that service is beyond disgusting. They originally said this about Secretary Tillerson but now that he is out of Government service they are repeating the disgusting lie with a new target that is close to President Trump. It seems like the “Trump haters” have made up and told so many outright lies that they are now repeating some of them over and over again.
  • The Democrats are leading twelve different “investigations” about alleged misconduct by Scott Pruitt, the current head of the EPA. This is just like the alleged Trump campaign Russia collusion. If you have a “public microphone” then making unfounded accusations is all you need to attempt to destroy anyone that you do not agree with, regardless of the consequences to America.
  • When President Trump’s transition team began to interact with people in positions of authority in other countries, as they prepared to be part of President Trump’s Administration, they were viciously attacked for their actions by Democrats, the MSM and members of the departing Obama Administration. But now that John Kerry is blatantly, and illegally, talking with leaders of other countries against President Trump’s decision to pull out of the ridiculous Iran nuclear deal the Democrats and MSM are referring to it as “shadow diplomacy”.
  • The Trump Administration worked quietly with Iraqi intelligence operatives to put together a sting operation that resulted in the capture of five senior ISIS officers. There was not a single mention about this by anyone on any MSM network.
  • The National Department of Education had a 2018 fiscal year proposed budget of 1 BILLION dollars. Betsy Devos, the Secretary of Education proposed a tiny budget cut, two billion dollars. Congress overrode her proposal and increased the budget by nine BILLION dollars! Congress increased the budget for a bloated federal agency that should not even exist!

As I said earlier, anytime I try and give anyone in the “Washington Cesspool” the “benefit of doubt” regarding why they say or do what they do, I have to stop and remind myself that “why” does not really matter. All that really matters is that they are deliberately hurting America on a constant basis and this must stop. If we do not keep President Trump in the White House, and control of the U.S House of Representatives and Senate on November 6, 2018, the future of America is dim. Patriotic Americans must continue to stand up and be heard, and VOTE!

The Left is Getting Worse by the Hour!

The Left is, and has been obsessed with “money and power” forever. It is not just money and power for its party, movement, or whatever it claims to represent. It is for personal “money and power” and an obsession with feeding their individual insatiable EGOS!

The fact that many people who are part of the Left’s efforts to destroy America do not claim to be a Democrat or Liberal magnifies how close we are to having our Constitution shredded! We have Democrats, Liberals, RINO Republicans and the Main Stream Media (MSM) who have all stopped even pretending to hide their efforts to help destroy our Constitutional Republic and replace it with a Communist/Socialist state. They refuse to acknowledge that since the beginning of recorded history there has never been a case, of any form, of communist, socialist or dictatorial government that did not fail miserably! Look at Venezuela and Cuba right now. Venezuela has descended into utter chaos to the point that it cannot be saved. People are starving to the point that they are eating their pets and the situation is getting worse by the hour. I REPEAT, THIS ISLAND NATION CANNOT BE SAVED!  The Castro brothers just announced that they were stepping down and handing off power to a hand- picked successor who is at least as bad as them, and in some ways worse. Their hand- picked successor, and every person running for office in the new “elections” ran UNOPPOSED. Almost everyone in the nation works for the government in one form or another for the equivalent of $30 per month in worthless currency. Anyone who tries to run a small business is openly persecuted by government “officials”.  This nation will be the next Venezuela and it will not be long coming. Even liberal countries like Switzerland are descending into chaos. There are now sixty two “no go zones” in the country. In some instances grenades are being used in organized acts of violence or by the people who control these “no go zones” to protect “their turf”.

The Left is using its obsession with destroying the Trump Presidency to cover up its efforts to destroy America. And I totally believe that they see the November 6, 2018 elections as their last opportunity to accomplish their goal. This is why they are being so aggressive in their efforts to shred our Constitution and flaunt their open hatred for America, and everything it stands for and has stood for in the past.

Here are just two examples of how far the Left is going to display their hatred for America, their obsession with supporting the ongoing efforts to “fundamentally change America” and feeding their needs to stroke their EGOS:

  • On Wednesday, April 18, 2018 a Fresno State professor went on an extended twitter rant about First Lady Barbara Bush’s death. What she posted on-line about this extraordinary lady and the Bush family was beyond despicable. And then she even bragged about how much money see is paid as a professor and that she could not be fired no matter what she said or did.
  • On Wednesday April 18, 2018 a Federal judge in Kansas ruled that the Kansas Secretary of State was in contempt of court for failing to follow HER order to “register people to vote that had signed up to vote at the DMV”, even though they did not provide proof that they were U.S. citizens when they were issued the license.

These two examples also confirm that these people, and most of the people who are part of the “fundamentally change America” movement, believe that they can say or do anything they want to do WITH NO CONCERN  ABOUT ANY POSSIBLE NEGATIVE REPERCUSSIONS AS A RESULT OF THEIR ACTIONS! The reason they feel this way is because there have been little to no negative repercussions for anything that anyone on the Left said or did since Bill Clinton was sworn in, especially during the eight years  Obama was in office!  In fact the opposite of negative repercussions has been the norm for many “fundamentally change America” organizations and individuals during the Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama administrations. Note: President Bush 43 had 9/11 and the aftermath of that to deal with so his ability to deal with the Clinton “legacy” was extremely limited. When Obama became President, being rewarded for actively being involved in the “fundamentally change America” movement actually became the “norm”.

As I said, these are just two examples of the Left’s obsession with destroying America, but I know they are more than that. They are actual proof that we are seeing a “crescendo” of the Left’s efforts to make a final, all out push to destroy America on November 6, 2018. The destruction of the Trump Presidency prior to that election is a critical part of their plan. If they fail to destroy the Trump Presidency before that election their efforts to destroy America will be dramatically reduced. Consequently I fully expect this “crescendo” to get louder by the hour between now and November 6, 2018! If you have any doubt that this is happening all you have to do, to see and hear it, is to turn on any TV news program, turn on any talk radio station, open any internet browser, look at any print media or log into twitter or face book. Note: twitter and face book ARE suppressing conservative commentary. I KNOW BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH DOING IT TO ME NOW!

Merriam Webster definition of “crescendo”: the peak of a gradual increase (climax)

There are a lot of good things happening in America and the world now, but the Left does not want you to hear this. Letting you hear good news will prevent them from achieving their goal on November 6, 2018. I am absolutely certain that the elections on November 6, 2018 will determine the future of America, and consequently the World. We must continue to stand up and make our voices heard or we will most likely lose our Constitutional Republic permanently!

America is a Constitutional Republic, Not a Democracy or Any Other Undesirable Form of Government

Over the last few weeks I have seen an increasing number of Liberal, agenda driven people, posting on social media and speaking anywhere they could get in front of a microphone or TV camera. These people are completely irrational, uninformed or worst, deliberately working to destroy America and make us part of George Soros’ “One World Order”. Regardless of which of these three categories they fall into they all have one thing in common. They are all insisting that America is BAD because we elected Donald Trump as President. Some of them are even comparing President Trump to some of the world’s worst dictators, current and past. One example I saw was a lengthy post on Facebook where the writer compared America today to the early stages of the horrible situation that exist in Venezuela today, and compared President Trump to the now deceased Hugo Chavez. The writer used these comparisons to strongly recommend that people in America” RISE UP” against President Trump!  Unfortunately the writer of this post, as misguided as he is, is not alone in his beliefs and desires for the destruction of the Trump Presidency, and consequently the destruction of America!

Regardless of whether the people opposing the Trump Presidency are uninformed, irrational, or really want to destroy America, it is obvious that they do not understand America at all. In America it does not matter who you ARE, what you WANT, or what you DO, you do not get to make America be what YOU want it to be! The Obama Administration was a perfect example of an individual or group that is obsessed with making America be what they want it to be. The reason an individual or group cannot make America be what they want it to be is because our brilliant and far seeing Founding Fathers made sure that cannot happen when they wrote our Constitution and got it ratified creating the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. As long as our government functions as a Constitutional Republic we will continue to be a free nation. When our Constitution is ignored by agenda driven people in power, and they get enough support for their actions, we will cease to be a free nation and will self-destruct into anarchy.

Under our form of Federal Government we have three co-equal branches of Government. The three branches are the “Executive” (the President), “Legislative” (Congress, the House of Representatives and Senate) and “Judicial” (the Supreme Court). There is also an elaborate system of checks and balances in place to keep the balance of power between the three branches in place. Sometimes these checks and balances get a little “fuzzy” when people in positions of power are too “self-centered”. As noted above, the Obama Administration was an example of an administration that was opposed to America’s Constitutional Republic form of government and it’s built in “checks and balances”. The Obama Administration made repeated attempts to bypass the other two branches of our Government and  ignore our system of “checks and balances” while trying to force their chosen way of life on America’s citizens, especially during Obama’s second term.

On November 8, 2016, as a result of the Obama Administration and his sycophant supporter’s disdain for our Constitutional Republic form of government the Patriotic American voters stood up and said “NO MORE”! On that day our Constitutional Republic form of government began to work again like our Founding Fathers intended it to work.

In addition to our Constitutional Republic form of Government America has one more thing that other countries do not have. That is the most patriotic, freedom loving, and heavily armed population in the history of the world. Combine that with qualified patriotic people in positions of power in our Constitutional Republic Government and America is going to be a “shining example” to the rest of the world again.

The Electoral College

There seems to be a renewed interest in the Electoral College. There are two reasons for this:

One is because one or both of the political conventions could be “brokered”. This increases the possibility that one or more independent candidates will enter the presidential election process. If this happens the role of the Electoral College will get a lot more attention. My next post will be about the escalating levels of turmoil in both parties and the likely effect it will have on the conventions and ultimately the November elections.

The second is due to an Electoral College elector from a western state calling in to a talk radio show and saying that the people do not elect the President, they (the electors) do. Earlier this week a second elector publicly made the same claim.

The Electoral College was actually created by the Founding fathers during the Constitutional Convention in 1787. The following information is about why the Electoral College was created, some of its history, how it has been changed with Constitutional Amendments, and how it works today.

In order to appreciate the reasons for the Electoral College, it is essential to understand its historical context and the problem that the Founding Fathers were trying to solve. They faced the difficult question of how to elect the President of a new country that:

  • was composed of thirteen large and small States jealous of their own rights and powers and suspicious of any central national government
  • contained only 4,000,000 people spread up and down a thousand miles of Atlantic seaboard barely connected by transportation or communication (so that national campaigns were impractical)
  • believed political parties were mischievous if not downright evil, and
  • felt that gentlemen should not campaign for public office (The saying was “The office should seek the man, the man should not seek the office.”).

The Electoral College is a process, not a place. The founding fathers established it in the Constitution in 1787 as a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens.

The selection of the electors, the meeting of the electors where they vote for the President and Vice President, and the counting of the electoral votes by Congress are all part of the process..

Today the Electoral College has 538 electors. A majority of 270 electoral votes is required to elect the President. Your state’s allotment of electors equals the number of members in its Congressional delegation: one for each member in the House of Representatives plus two for your Senators.

Under the 23rd Amendment of the Constitution, the District of Columbia is allocated 3 electors and treated like a state for purposes of the Electoral College. For this reason, in the following discussion, the word “state” also refers to the District of Columbia.

Each candidate running for President in your state has his or her own group of electors. The electors are generally chosen by the candidate’s political party, but state laws vary on how the electors are elected and what their responsibilities are.

The presidential election is held every four years on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. You help choose your state’s electors when you vote for President because when you vote for your candidate you are actually voting for your candidate’s electors. Emphasis by me because I think it is important for people to understand that their vote for the President does count.

Most states have a “winner-take-all” system that awards all electors to the winning presidential candidate. However, Maine and Nebraska each have a variation of “proportional representation”.

After the presidential election, your governor prepares a “Certificate of Ascertainment” listing all of the candidates who ran for President in your state along with the names of their respective electors. The Certificate of Ascertainment also declares the winning presidential candidate in your state and shows which electors will represent your state at the meeting of the electors in December of the election year. Your state’s Certificates of Ascertainments are sent to the Congress and the National Archives as part of the official records of the presidential election. The meeting of the electors takes place on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December after the presidential election. The electors meet in their respective states, where they cast their votes for President and Vice President on separate ballots. Your state’s electors’ votes are recorded on a “Certificate of Vote,” which is prepared at the meeting by the electors. Your state’s Certificates of Votes are sent to the Congress and the National Archives as part of the official records of the presidential election.

Each state’s electoral votes are counted in a joint session of Congress on the 6th of January in the year following the meeting of the electors. Members of the House and Senate meet in the House chamber to conduct the official tally of electoral votes. .

The Vice President, as President of the Senate, presides over the count and announces the results of the vote. The President of the Senate then declares which persons, if any, have been elected President and Vice President of the United States.

The President-Elect takes the oath of office and is sworn in as President of the United States on January 20th in the year following the Presidential election.

The Quiet Revolution

Recently I heard a Fox News contributor, while talking about the current national mood regarding politics say, “we are seeing a quiet revolution”.  Regarding it being “quiet”, I can only assume she meant that it was not being done with guns (up to this point?) like previous revolutions.

As I thought about what she said it seemed to be the perfect phrase to describe what is happening in America today and how long it has been building up to “revolution” status. Republicans, Democrats, Independents, libertarians and people who simply were not involved in politics at all are so tired of “politics as usual” that they are literally taking action to “throw the bums out”. They are mad at liberal Democrats, rino Republicans and almost everyone in between. I have personally heard people say, “I have never registered or voted but I am going to in this election”.

For several days after I heard her say that I thought about the significance of what is happening in America now and how far back the roots of this movement go.  The more I thought about it the more convinced I am that it has been a long time coming and that it is clearly happening in America at an accelerating rate.

I have always been an avid reader. I grew up reading “Field and Stream”, “Progressive Farmer”, Loius L’Amour books and W.E.B Griffin books. First everything written by L’Amour and then I discovered Griffin. What was unique about these two writers is that their work was fiction but was so well researched and written that they seemed to be actual history books. Many of the books were a continuation of a previous book. Over time I actually read every book written by these two authors. In my early thirties I began to develop an increased interest in history and current events and began reading nonfiction books exclusively. The following analysis of the “quiet revolution” is based on this background and my personal life experiences.

As I studied and thought about this it seemed clear to me that this “quiet revolution” began in the sixties with President Kennedy’s assassination and Johnson becoming president. He was one of the most “political” presidents in our history. He was a smart, manipulating, coercive, intimidating, and win at any cost politician. With him everything was political. During the fifty years since the sixties we now have a president who appears to be the same but is in fact totally different. With President Obama everything is totally about himself. With him the political system is merely a way for him to continually stoke his insatiable ego. His administration did not create the “quiet revolution” but they did bring it to a boiling point.

It began with President Johnson’s “war on poverty” and the escalation of the Vietnam War. The government has spent trillions of our dollars in its effort to fight poverty but people in the lower income levels of our society are worse off than they were in the sixties. So we now have several generations of people who have a lifetime of anger built up. Regarding the Vietnam War, we spent trillions and over 50,000 American lives and left a disaster behind us. This created the “give peace a chance” and “free love” generation.

Next up we had President Nixon, otherwise known as “Tricky Dickie”. He was a very paranoid, conniving, manipulative man who was literally run out of the White House in utter shame.

Next we had President Ford who was the only president in our history who became President, for lack of a better term, by accident. He was Speaker of the House of Representatives and became Vice President when VP Agnew had to resign because of financial improprieties in his past. It was so bad that he had to agree to a plea bargain where he resigned, paid a $10,000 fine, served three years’ probation and was disbarred. Ford then became President less than a year later when Nixon had to resign. He was a good man whose most memorable act was to pardon Nixon, which I firmly believe was the right thing to do at the time.

Next we had President Carter. A whole lot of things went bad under this president. Gas shortage resulting in long lines at the pumps and rationing, the ill-conceived wheat embargo, the Iranian hostage crisis that lasted 441 days, increased business failures throughout the nation and increased regional polarization. History has proven that he is a small little man who “wears his religion on his sleeve” and has been as bad a past president as he was president. His meddling in the world since he lost the presidency has been unprecedented. Many people believed that history would be more kind to him as time passed due to his work with Habitat for Humanity but this is not proving to be true. It is the opinion of many that the constant stream of failures in the Obama administration are the only things that will take some of the focus off of Carter’s failed presidency. He added  a whole new group of people who have deeply rooted and justified anger issues and made the people who were already angry even more angry.

Next, a welcome breathe of fresh air, President Reagan. We actually had eight years where people were less angry and more proud to be American than they had been in a long time. Can you imagine what it would have been like if he had not been suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease during his second term?

Next we had President Bush (41). He was a good man who served his country honorably throughout his entire life. Among other things he was the youngest pilot ever commissioned to fly in combat. Unfortunately for him he had to follow one of the greatest presidents in our history, who he served with as Vice President, was up against history regarding a party keeping the White House for an extended period of time and faced a new breed of politician in Bill Clinton.

And then we had President Clinton, otherwise known as “Slick Willy”, with good reason. There have been many books written about him and his wife, otherwise known as the “devil” by many people. Neither of these people ever really held a job in the private sector for any period of time. Regarding Bill I will try to summarize his eight years with just a few important points. He and the rino Republicans brag about how they balanced the budget and moved the economy forward in huge leaps by working together. The facts prove that to not be exactly true. Anyone remember the Clinton recession otherwise known as the “dot com bubble bust”? I do because I lost 45% of my retirement funds during the latter part of his second term. How about the housing crisis that almost destroyed America and the world?  Do you know who created that? Bill Clinton did using Janet Reno to force banks to take subprime loans by threatening them with federal prosecution for unfair lending practices using absurd and unrealistic standards, having Democrats and rino Republicans finding a way to bury the subprime loans at Fannie and Freddy and then sending his budget director, Franklin Raines over to run Fannie to complete the circle. For the record Raines took a $92,000,000 parachute and left Fannie just before the crash. The result of this was the total destruction of the private banking system in America, the worst recession since the great depression and the longest running recession in American history. He also refused to take Bin Laden when he had the chance, totally mismanaged the “Black Hawk Down” situation, and with the help of the Democrats and rino Republicans in congress he gutted our military and practically eliminated our intelligence services. He also made sure the US Department of Justice was staffed with a lot of new ideologically driven liberal lawyers. Not to mention he should have been impeached and taken out of office for lying under oath which is a Federal crime (he was charged but not actually impeached thanks to the Democrats and rino Republicans in congress). This could go on to be book length but I think this is enough for now.

Next we had President Bush (43), a man who led an interesting life and tried to serve his country honorably as its 43rd president. Obama and his fans love to blame this man for everything but the facts paint a different story. First he inherited a demoralized and devastated military and a non- existent intelligence service. 9/11 happened less than 8 months after he took office, with no intelligence boots on the ground. In addition to having to deal with all this he worked with congress and was on the verge of getting compromise legislation passed to fix the immigration crisis and was working on trying to stop the housing/banking meltdown. Then the Democrats got a veto proof majority in congress led by the new senator Obama and shut everything down for purely political reasons.

And then we got Obama and a democratically controlled US House of Representatives and Senate. What did America get out of that? Nothing but Obamacare, which has devastated jobs in America. Yes I can document that and will in another post.

So now we have the “quiet revolution” which is not so quiet and gaining in volume every day. This is what Trump has tapped into and the movement  is now moving toward supporting Cruz. The party leaders (I use that term loosely) in both parties had better pay attention, especially the rino Republicans! Anyone remember Eric Cantor?
